The document BL-ACA-A1, titled “Academic Appointments,” amounts to six UFC (University Faculty Council) policies pasted together. [Those policies are listed below.] Treating BL-ACA-A1 as though it is a BFC policy is needlessly confusing and causes unnecessary effort. Treating it as a BFC policy means, for example, that whenever any of those six UFC policies is modified, the BFC has to then consider and vote on whether to likewise modify BL-ACA-A1 accordingly.
Doing away with BL-ACA-A1 would not affect the UFC policies; the UFC policies would still exist and apply to all IU campuses, including to Bloomington’s.
