Proposed Bloomington Campus Policy on Faculty Salaries

Submitted to the BFC Executive Committee November, 2022

      The proposed policy (to replace existing BFC policy BL-ACA-E23) strongly supports these two principles: A) Within each rank of each appointment category, faculty who have similar responsibilities and who make similar contributions should have similar salaries, and B) Salaries should not decrease in real terms over time.

      Also, the proposed policy does not treat salaries as rewards and punishments, and it does not encourage, let alone require, units to come up with and compare faculty merit scores.
